Vernon Harrison Challenges Lynch to Cast Tie-Breaking Vote

Press Release

Date: Sept. 27, 2010

Harrison says if he can vote against ObamaCare in March, he can vote against it now

Republican candidate from the 9th district of Massachusetts, Vernon Harrison, today challenged Rep. Stephen Lynch to stand behind his words and sign the petition in the U.S. House of Representatives that would repeal President Obama's controversial healthcare program.

"He first voted for the bill, then he voted against it, and now it's time to cast the tie-breaking vote," said Harrison.

"If Lynch voted against ObamaCare for the reasons stated on his website, he will have no problem signing the petition to repeal the trillion dollar program," said Harrison.

"I felt like this was a good time to reach across the aisle and ask Mr. Lynch to show us that he isn't in the pocket of Nancy Pelosi. If he voted against the bill just a few months ago, he can certainly do it again now by signing the petition," said Harrison.

Mr. Lynch's official website states that he voted against the program because it cost nearly $1 trillion and offered little to reform the current system.
